The U-17 Colombian women’s team achieved this Wednesday the goal of qualifying for the category World Cup in India, by beating Chile 3-0 at the Charrúa stadium in Montevideo.
It was a game in which those led by Carlos Paniagua were able to win by an even greater difference, but in which some definition problems made the game difficult at times. However, at the end of the game came the goals that gave the Colombian squad peace of mind.
Karla Torres and Linda Caicedo were protagonists of the victory that ensured the Colombian classification. The first scored the 1-0, after a brilliant play by the second, who started from the left and dragged the mark of her rivals at the point of dribbles, to touch the center and leave her partner facing the goal, at nine minutes.
Colombia crashed two balls into the posts and could not transform the superiority they had on the pitch into goals. Until at 29 of the second stage, Torres returned the favor to Caicedo, by fighting a ball inside the area and touching back. The figure of the National Team finished off from the edge of the area and got the second.
A nice filtered pass from Linda Caicedo allowed Sintia Cabezas to score the third goal, one-on-one with the Chilean goalkeeper, in the 34th minute.
“A winning generation is coming. We work every day for our country and that they continue to believe in us, that what we have here is talent,” Linda Caicedo declared at the end of the game.
Colombia will seek on Saturday, at 6:30 in the afternoon, the title of South American champion, facing Brazil.
