Cuadrado says goodbye to Champions thrashed by Villarreal

Sometimes the heart is not everything in the Champions League. Juventus fought, tried, but Villarreal took the result. Those led by Unai Emery were more practical and when they scored the first goal, the match opened and the Vecchia Signora became desperate and ended up thrashed at home 0-3.

Juan Cuadrado was captain and winger. The Colombian was one of those who most sought to connect the strikers, but the effectiveness failed again. He played on the right, but sometimes to create surprise he went to the left. The 33-year-old player says goodbye to the Champions League in the second round.

Juve, without effectiveness

Juventus intense from the first minutesbut Villarreal was the first to warn with a great combination between Parejo and Lo Celso. Then in minute 6, the first clear option arrived. Cuadrado’s perfect center for Morata that he could not define.

Four minutes later, again the Colombian was the protagonist, overflow from the right, assistance to the far post that Morata headed, however, the Argentine goalkeeper Rulli was sure.

During much of the engagement Cuadrado and Vlahovic looked for each other to break lines with that change of pace and power. In the 20th minute, the Serbian was able to open the scoring with a powerful shot that Rulli saved. A minute later he had it again on ‘7’, but the post denied him the goal. Finish off with pure power.

Rulli began to be the figure of the party. In minute 34, another option from Juve arrived again. Corner kick, De Ligt combed it at the near post and Vlahovic headed powerfully, but the Argentine flew to get it out.

Goals and deconcentration of Juve

In the complementary part, Juve came out pressing and looking for the goal. Morata was active, but the Spaniard was ineffective. Those led by Allegri tried another way and opted for the middle distance with Rabiot and Juan Guillermo Cuadrado, who turned to throw to the left to go from outside to inside and finish off.

Lots of heart from Juan Cuadrado who when Juve did not have the ball they pressed Villarreal high to not let it out. However, the Spanish team took confidence and always made a difference on the counterattack.

In the 76th minute came Villarreal’s goal that silenced the Juventus Stadium. Penalty on Francis Coquelin after a clear foul by Rugani in the area, the judge did not give it immediately, but later he was called by the VAR where the action was worth it. The person in charge of collecting it was Gerard Moreno, Szczęsny was close to tying him up but could not.

Juve could not react to the blow of the goal and in the 85th minute Villarreal’s second came. annotation of Pau Torres after a corner kick that the local defense could not reject. Five minutes later came the third, again from a penalty. Counterattack at full speed, Matthijs de Ligt’s hand in the area. The person in charge of collecting it this time was Arnaut Danjuma.
