Third consecutive rise of the female Tenerife

Tenerife women’s players celebrate promotion (CD TENERIFE)

Editorial Deporpress | Third consecutive ascent of the feminine Tenerife. The CD Tenerife Women’s Foundation of the First National won last Sunday promotion to Third RFEF, a new category that will debut next season with groups from different parts of the country. The Blue and Whites achieved this third promotion in three years of life as a team after beating CD Tarsa in the palm lands.

The players directed by Ivo Jiménez jumped to the Municipal Stadium of Breña Alta knowing that mathematically they were already promotedafter Unión Viera’s victory the previous day against the Femarguin subsidiary, but with the idea of winning to prolong this joy. Despite the casualties that the Tenerife team had in defense (María Ramos and Elena Ramos), the level and intensity was once again very high from the first minute.

The wind prevented the movement of the ball from flowing. This is how the first minutes of a match that hardly had scoring chances passed. The CD Tenerife Women’s Foundation tried to combine from their midfield, occupied by the usual couple of Lidia Riveiro and Beatriz Borrego, and finish with a quartet that is becoming a fixture in the attack: Martina, Xisela, Iratxe and Yesenia.

The goals came in the second half

Without goals and without too much danger in the areas, the break was tied at zero and a CD Tarsa was achieving its purpose: defensive solidity to annul the visiting offensive network. A framework that began to refine itself in the second half as a result of the substitutions made by the Fundación CD Tenerife coach.

The young Tati entered the field for Yesenia with the aim of delving into the final meters of the palm area. And in one of those attempts came the first goal for the Blue and Whites (minute 70), the work of Iratxe Pérez, scoring the ball over the rival goalkeeper, after receiving a good pass in a change of direction. Patience had been rewarded.

With an advantage on the scoreboard, the CD Tenerife Feminine Foundation continued to own possession and continued to contain CD Tarsa’s incursions with its greatest offensive danger, striker Mariló. Through the defense, Ivo Jiménez’s players gained in confidence and, furthermore, with the entry of new changes (Rocío, Vane and Claudia), the freshness for the last moments of the duel increased.

Tiredness began to appear in the locals, who, despite not giving up at any time, received the second goal (minute 87), and definitive, again through the mediation of the attacker Iratxe Pérez. A pass between the lines by Xisela, which left the Tenerife striker alone, who finished to perfection to put the finishing touch to a match that had triple prizes: win number 20 with 62 points, the long-awaited rise in category with three days of advance and maintain the leadership of the First National.

At the end of the match and due to the adverse weather conditions prevailing in La Palma, the team from Tenerife could not return to Tenerife that same night. Finally, the return trip was made yesterday, Monday, by sea, arriving home throughout the day. Tired but with the happiness of the new sporting success achieved and with the clear objective of completing the season with the championship. Congratulations to the CD Tenerife Women’s Foundation First National squad for their third promotion in as many seasons.
