The Real Betis Balompié Foundation, Channeling entity of the Corporate Social Responsibility of the Verdiblanco Club, has presented this Thursday the Activity Report for the 2020-2021 season. A stage characterized by consolidating the Foundation as a social entity of reference inside and outside the city, turning Real Betis Balompié into one of the most supportive football clubs at a national level.
The Real Betis Balompié Foundation – with an executed budget of 755,348 euros- helped a total of 7,345 people through 29 own projects, involvement in 32 projects of other entities and support for 148 organisations, all of them framed in the five areas of action of the Foundation: Social Area, Sports Area, Former Players Area, Cultural and Historical Heritage Area and Forever Green, a project that deals with the Environment Area.
The 2020/2021 season was characterized by the return of face-to-face projects that are the flag of the Foundation, such as the Betis School, the Real Betis Genuine or ‘Adding in Education’ in Equatorial Guinea. But one of the great premieres of the season was Forever Greenthe environmental platform promoted by Real Betis Balompié and which has placed the Club as the leader in sustainability in LaLiga.
Within this project, cleanups of natural environments were carried out, such as the banks of the Guadalquivir River in collaboration with ok planet, The use of sustainable transport was promoted with the provision of a fleet of scooters for Club employees or recycling actions in work centers. In addition, Real Betis has adhered to international sustainable initiatives such as Sports for Climate Action Framework or The Climate Pledge.
In the Sports Area of the Foundation, they were created during the past season Betis Academy Zimbabwe and Betis Academy Bahgdad, with hundreds of soccer players wearing verdiblanco under the methodology of Real Betis Balompié beyond our borders. In addition, collaboration agreements were signed for the creation of modernization academies in the provinces of Seville and Cádiz.
The Real Betis Genuine He was finally able to return to his face-to-face training after the toughest stage of the pandemic. During the course, Real Betis also trained its volunteers in charge of helping people with mobility problems with access to the stadium. Both actions are among those that are part of the Disability Program.
Likewise, within the Inclusion Program we found last season the sports project carried out in the South Polygon along with former Verdiblanco player José Manuel Monsalvete. 90 players who enjoyed this initiative that aims to educate through sport.
But without a doubt, one of the most emotional actions of the season was the donation of school furniture in the Malabo Orphanage in Equatorial Guinea, that made it possible for the children of this center to have tables and chairs to study. This project of the International Cooperation for Development program was carried out with the collaboration of the Municipality of Dos Hermanas.
Taking care of the health of the little ones is another of the objectives that the Verdiblanca entity once again fulfilled during the past season. Again it was carried out initiative ‘The strongest robes’, distributing gowns -made with the shirts of Real Betis players and their sports sections- to children admitted to five Seville hospitals, a project that is part of the Health Program of the Real Betis Balompié Foundation.
In the field of education, school supplies were donated to nurseries and families with economic difficulties. Together with the José Manuel Lara Foundation, the literary contest ‘I have my team’ was launched.
Real Betis Balompié took care of another year of its history by creating projects such as ‘Del Verde a la Memoria’ and paying homage to its oldest members. In addition, the book ‘Historias del Betis 2’ was released and a new season of the program ‘Béticos’ was made on Betis TV.
