In the resumption of the European leagues after the last qualifying dates for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, the Manchester United stumbled again after drawing 1-1 with Leicester City and continues to move away from the qualifying positions to the next edition of the UEFA Champions League.

Manchester United received Leicester without having Cristiano Ronaldo who was absent due to illnessand he could not show signs of improvement in his game that was once again vulnerable in defense and could not generate danger in the attack, obtaining a result that does not help him in his aspirations to play the next Champions.

the nigerian Kelechi Iheanacho opened the scoring at minute 63 in favor of the ‘Foxes’who could not do more damage thanks to the great work of Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea, who in turn ended up being the best of the ‘Red Devils’, avoiding what could have been a new defeat against an obviously inferior team.

Just three minutes later, at 66′, United equalized thanks to a goal from the Brazilian Fred. At that moment it seemed that the Old Trafford side were on the way to a comeback but they were unable to generate a fluid game that could unsettle Danish goalkeeper Kasper Schmaichel.

Leicester continued to create danger and could have won the game in the final minutes after the winger James Maddison scored a goal in the 80th minute that was later annulled by VAR.

After 30 games in the English Premier League, the Manchester United, led by Ralf Rangnick, is in sixth place in the standings with 51 points and it is three from Arsenal that with two games less, is in the fourth place that grants the last quota to the Champions League.

Meanwhile, the Leicester led by Brendan Rodgers, is ninth in the standings with 37 points and has little chance of reaching a place in the Europa League or Conference League.
