Ligue 1 is the top division in French men’s football. From 1932 to 2002 it ran under the designations “Division 1” or “Première Division (D1)”. It was a professional league from the start. Although there have been French championships since 1894, winning the championship (“Championnat de France”) has only been an official title since 1932.
Ligue 1: broadcast live on TV and stream in Germany
